The Universal Child Benefit is an unconditional cash payment paid on regular basis to the whole population of children (paid to caregivers). The pilot programme targeted 8300 children between 0 and 36 months with a cash stipend of Kenya shillings 800 a month paid bi-monthly, preferably to the female caregiver. This is also accompanied by a cash-plus component focusing on nutritional counselling, positive parenting, and disability inclusion.
